Stennis is headed for a complex overhaul"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">WASHINGTON \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.defensenews.com\/breaking-news\/2018\/08\/03\/us-navy-awards-huge-contract-to-huntington-ingalls-for-its-newest-class-of-amphibious-vessels\/\" target=\"_blank\">Huntington Ingalls<\/a> Newport News is gearing up to start a yearslong overhaul of the U.S. Navy carrier John C. Stennis, which is shifting home ports from Washington state to Norfolk to get ready for its break from the rotation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The company announced last week it had inked a $187.5 million contract for advanced planning to support Stennis\u2019 refueling and complex overhaul, or RCOH, slated to begin in 2021.
