{"id":52790,"date":"2014-12-02T13:11:52","date_gmt":"2014-12-02T13:11:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/one.sightlinemg.com\/defensenews\/uncategorized\/2014\/12\/02\/armed-services-committees-to-unveil-compromise-ndaa-details\/"},"modified":"2026-08-07T23:50:05","modified_gmt":"2026-08-07T23:50:05","slug":"armed-services-committees-to-unveil-compromise-ndaa-details","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/one.sightlinemg.com\/defensenews\/congress\/2014\/12\/02\/armed-services-committees-to-unveil-compromise-ndaa-details\/","title":{"rendered":"Armed Services Committees to Unveil Compromise NDAA Details"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><span class=\"character dateline\">WASHINGTON \u2013 <\/span> After weeks of high-level talks, the House and Senate Armed Services committees on Tuesday will unveil details of a compromise 2015 Pentagon policy bill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With the Senate again unable to bring a SASC-passed version of the national defense authorization bill to the floor, leaders of the two panels were forced to hammer out a final version that is expected to pass both chambers in the 113th Congress&#8217; final days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Senior staffers from both panels are slated to brief reporters on details of the 2015 NDAA around midday Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The House could take up the measure later this week, with the Senate following suit before it adjourns sometime before the week of Christmas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Just when the upper chamber will send the measure to the president&#8217;s desk is &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.defensenews.com\/article\/20141201\/CONGRESSWATCH\/312010016\/This-Week-All-Up-Air-Defense-Bills-Still-Pending\">all up in the air<\/a>,&#8221; a Senate aide said Monday. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., said Monday that the NDAA is among his must-pass bills before he hands the gavel to Republicans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The HASC-SASC
