A Ministry of Defence (MoD) <\/span> official without being named <\/span>said Indian <\/span> Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar (cq)<\/span>who took office in November 11, <\/span> decided that Chander, age 64 and working on a contract basis, should be replaced with a younger scientist on a permanent basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Talking to reporters Jan. 14, Parrikar said <\/span>“I recommended this. Rama Rao, a former secretary of the Department of Science and Technology, has issued recommended <\/span>several <\/span> recommendations to make the working of <\/span> DRDO more effective. One of the <\/span>recommendations of the Rama Rao committee relates to<\/span> is to merge making DRDO leaner.
