The announcement clears the way for General Dynamics\u2019 acquisition of CSRA to go forward. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Although initial reports indicated General Dynamics would stick with its original bid, a company statement released March 20 announced an amended merger agreement. The new proposal would have General Dynamics acquire all outstanding shares of CSRA for $41.25 per share in cash, an increase from the original $40.75 per share offer. <br><\/p>\n\n\n\t<aside class=\"smg-interstitial-link wp-block-smg-interstitial-link\">\n\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/one.sightlinemg.com\/defensenews\/industry\/2018\/02\/21\/how-will-general-dynamics-acquisition-of-csra-impact-government-services\/\" class=\"smg-interstitial-link__inner\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"smg-interstitial-link__media\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"156\" src=\"https:\/\/one.sightlinemg.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/digital-modular-radio-carousel-3.jpg.jpg?w=300\" class=\"smg-interstitial-link__image wp-post-image\" alt=\"\" \/>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"smg-interstitial-link__content\">\n\t\t\t\t<span class=\"smg-interstitial-link__kicker\">Related<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"smg-interstitial-link__title\">How will General Dynamics\u2019 acquisition of CSRA impact government services?<\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"smg-interstitial-link__excerpt\">The deal looks to shake up the federal IT landscape as General Dynamics looks to compete for larger government contracts<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/a>\n\t<\/aside>\n\t\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With the higher offer, the transaction is now valued at $9.7 billion, including General Dynamics\u2019 assumption of $2.8 billion in CSRA debt.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In making the decision to stick with General Dynamics, \u201cCSRA\u2019s Board of Directors took into account various factors, including among others, the value, certainty of value, certainty of closing, and speed to closing of the General Dynamics offer, as amended, as compared to the CACI proposal\u201d the statement says.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From CACI\u2019s perspective, CSRA made the wrong choice. \u201cCACI continues to believe that CACI and CSRA would be the superior strategic and financial business combination,\u201d CACI Chief Executive Officer Kenneth Asbury said. \u201c\u201cThe combination would have created an industry leading pure play in the federal IT solutions and services market.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">CSRA has been a player in the defense tech community. In June 2017, the company was awarded a $143 million contract from the U.S. Marine Corps to provide advanced IT services. In November 2016, CSRA won a task order to develop a cyber defense strategy for various offices within the Department of Defense.<br><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>CACI is
