PARIS \u2015 The two bidders in a tender for Renault Trucks Defense took a static view, leading to valuations seen as so low that Swedish truck-maker Volvo took the French company off the market, said RTD chairman Emmanuel Levacher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rather than viewing a \u201cdynamic film,\u201d the rival bidders had snapped a \u201cstatic\u201d photograph, an approach that failed to factor in RTD\u2019s growth potential through new programs, projects and export prospects, Levacher said. The resulting gap between the offers and Volvo\u2019s valuation was \u201cirreconcilable,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Volvo canceled the competition for the Volvo Group Governmental Sales division, as the Swedish company does not lack cash and is not a \u201cforced seller,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
