The U.S. Air Force\u2019s next stealth bomber, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.defensenews.com\/air\/2022\/09\/20\/a-first-look-at-the-b-21-raider-bomber-is-coming-soon\/\" target=\"_blank\">B-21 Raider<\/a>, will be revealed to the public in California on Dec. 2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.defensenews.com\/air\/2022\/04\/07\/as-b-21-bomber-prep-ramps-up-air-force-awards-contract-for-advance-parts\/\" target=\"_blank\">Northrop Grumman<\/a>, the company building the B-21, announced the date in a tweet Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The rollout will take place at Northrop Grumman\u2019s facility in Palmdale, California. The company said in September that six test bombers were in various stages of final assembly there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But the company and the Air Force have shared few details of the rollout. Northrop Grumman\u2019s announcement included a short video that showed a shrouded B-21 illuminated with floodlights, and the date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">On Dec. 2, we\u2019ll unveil the world\u2019s first sixth-generation aircraft. Stay tuned for your first look at the B-21 Raider.  <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/y5TJ8wOkY8\">https:\/\/t.co\/y5TJ8wOkY8<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/SEWbsmVZR3\">pic.twitter.com\/SEWbsmVZR3<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Northrop Grumman (@northropgrumman) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/northropgrumman\/status\/1583096331853533184?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 20, 2022<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.x.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Air Force did not have an immediate comment on the announcement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This will be the first public unveiling of a new Air Force bomber in 34 years, since the B-2 Spirit\u2019s debut in November 1988.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first B-21 finished its initial<b> <\/b>ground tests in May, which included stress tests to verify the bomber\u2019s structural integrity. Other tests and steps in the process that followed have included powering up the bomber, testing its subsystems, and applying coatings and paint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.defensenews.com\/air\/2022\/05\/25\/b-21-first-flight-to-come-in-2023\/\" target=\"_blank\">first flight of the B-21 will come in 2023<\/a>, a few months after the rollout. Northrop Grumman said in September the timing of that flight \u201cwill be based on ground test outcomes.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That B-21 will fly from Plant 42 at Palmdale to Edwards Air Force Base in California next year, where formal flight tests will take place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Andrew Hunter, the Air Force\u2019s assistant secretary for acquisition, technology and logistics, in September announced the approximate timing of the B-21 rollout at the Air and Space Forces Association\u2019s Air, Space and Cyber Conference, saying he
