The Office of Personnel Management has been focused on adding some cybersecurity personnel to its own staff in recent months, a direct response to two massive security breaches revealed earlier this year.
Along with the appointment of a new senior cyber adviser — Cliff Triplett — the agency posted an opening for a full-time chief information security officer on USAJobs.gov.
- Oversee identity and access management;
- Oversee regulatory compliance and ensure data privacy;
- Establish and oversee the organization’s security architecture;
- Provide senior strategic level guidance and counsel on national cyber security initiatives and issues;
- Create and implement governmentwide policies that support IT risk reduction for cyber security programs throughout the federal government; and
- Provide incident response and incident recovery to protect systems and data.
Prospective applicants must be U.S. citizens and be eligible for Top Secret/SCI clearance. The position offers a salary range of $121,956 to $168,700.
