The General Services Administration has posted an hourlong webinar and updated an FAQ document for the Transactional Data Reporting (TDR) rule on its vendor support center. The final TDR rule was published June 23 and introduced substantial new reporting requirements to the GSA Federal Supply Schedules program.
This vendor training material is provided to help contract holders who must report data on individual task orders and purchases made on GSA schedules, including part numbers, quantities and prices paid.
Topics covered in the webinar include what schedules and special item numbers are covered; what data must be reported, when and where; and changes to contracts, if accepting the TDR clause through a contract modification.
The rule’s goal is to support category management and provide the actionable data necessary to assure cost and duplication are reduced in the procurement process. Contracting officers will have a better idea of the solutions, channels and sources being used throughout government in the covered product areas (and eventually all GSA schedules), allowing them to best meet mission needs. This transparency lowers barriers for businesses entering the market.
