Nearly half of baby boomers and one-third of millennials consider a breach of Social Security information to be their biggest data security concern, according to an October #AFSFedPulse survey by Accenture.
Asking 500 residents of Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia to rank what federally cataloged personal data they are most concerned could be compromised through by a cyberattack, the poll found more than a third of all those surveyed said Social Security numberss.
The second-most concerning database on government servers was financial and credit information (top-ranked by 56 percent of boomers and 44 percent of younger generations).
Health and medical records only made the top three concerns, with 25 percent of respondents, and salary information only worried 10 people.
