readies for first \u2018Work-Life Survey\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Office of Personnel Management is getting ready to gauge the work-life balance of federal employees, and it&#8217;s looking for a few human capital officers to help.<br\/><br\/>The agency is set to administer the first government-wide Federal Work-Life Survey early next year, and Acting Director Beth Cobert sent an Oct. 25 memo requesting points of contact from Chief Human Capital Officer offices to coordinate logistics for it. \u00a0<br\/><br\/><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The survey is part of a set of initiatives laid out in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/the-press-office\/2014\/06\/23\/presidential-memorandum-enhancing-workplace-flexibilities-and-work-life-\" title=\"Link: https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/the-press-office\/2014\/06\/23\/presidential-memorandum-enhancing-workplace-flexibilities-and-work-life-\">a 2014 White House memorandum<\/a>to enhance federal work-life balance and flexibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cobert said the survey would inform OPM on where in the government high-performing programs exist, as well as identifying the hurdles to employee engagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;We have an unprecedented opportunity to evaluate the relationship between work-life programs and organizational benefits, and answer questions about how Federal programs compare to similar private sector programs through this survey,&#8221; she said in the memo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;The data collected will also help individual agencies understand their employees\u2019 work-life needs and priorities, allowing senior leaders and managers to make evidence-based decisions about investments in these programs.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">OPM is calling for a CHCO offices to provide a point of contact to<\/p>\n\n\n\n<a href=\"mailto:worklifesurvey@opm.gov\" title=\"Link: mailto:worklifesurvey@opm.gov\">worklifesurvey@opm.gov<\/a>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">by Nov.
