Commerce Secretary Penny Pritzker announced the hiring on March 13, at the South by Southwest conference in Austin, Texas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kalin tweeted the news too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I have accepted an offer from <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CommerceGov\"><s>@<\/s><b>CommerceGov<\/b><\/a> to be their first-ever Chief Data Officer.
