{"id":12070,"date":"2020-03-19T16:52:04","date_gmt":"2020-03-19T16:52:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/one.sightlinemg.com\/federaltimes\/uncategorized\/2020\/03\/19\/social-security-administration-awards-253-million-task-order\/"},"modified":"2026-08-08T04:33:55","modified_gmt":"2026-08-08T04:33:55","slug":"social-security-administration-awards-253-million-task-order","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/one.sightlinemg.com\/federaltimes\/it-networks\/2020\/03\/19\/social-security-administration-awards-253-million-task-order\/","title":{"rendered":"Social Security Administration awards $253 million task order"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Social Security Administration has awarded a $253 million telecommunications task order to MetTel, according to a March 19 news release from the telecom company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The task order is part of SSA\u2019s Grand SLLAM contract vehicle, which procures local, long distance and access management telecommunications services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the release from MetTel, the company will provide consolidated and centralized voice and IP-based services, toll-free services, audio conferencing, and other \u201cancillary\u201d support services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe U.S. Social Security Administration is an early adopter of new technologies to improve the customer experience,\u201d said Diana Gowen, general manager and senior vice president of its federal program. \u201cGrand SLLAM was a best value award and MetTel delivered the highest rated proposal \u2014 best technical due to MetTel\u2019s innovation and approach to transitioning services, as well as excellent past performance.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MetTel has won several telecom contracts in the last 18 months, including with the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the Navy and the Marine Corps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe look forward to being a part of SSA\u2019s digital transformation and increasing its capacity to serve its constituents, improving the customer experience and reducing costs in the process,\u201d Gowen said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><i>Correction: An earlier version of this story misspelled the company name.
