{"id":12840,"date":"2018-09-27T17:14:48","date_gmt":"2018-09-27T17:14:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/one.sightlinemg.com\/federaltimes\/uncategorized\/2018\/09\/27\/gsa-awards-multibillion-dollar-payroll-contract-to-two-teams\/"},"modified":"2026-08-08T04:34:16","modified_gmt":"2026-08-08T04:34:16","slug":"gsa-awards-multibillion-dollar-payroll-contract-to-two-teams","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/one.sightlinemg.com\/federaltimes\/it-networks\/cloud\/2018\/09\/27\/gsa-awards-multibillion-dollar-payroll-contract-to-two-teams\/","title":{"rendered":"GSA awards multibillion-dollar payroll contract to two teams"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The General Services Administration announced Sept. 27 that it had awarded its 10-year, $2.5 billion <a href=\"https:\/\/www.federaltimes.com\/acquisition\/2018\/05\/18\/gsa-wants-to-modernize-how-feds-get-paid\/\" target=_blank>NewPay cloud contract<\/a> for payroll, leave management and work scheduling to two industry teams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cNewPay demonstrates how the government will better coordinate and document common business needs across agencies by focusing on outcomes, data and cross-functional end-to-end business processes,\u201d said GSA Deputy Associate Administrator for Governmentwide Policy Beth Angerman in a press release. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cCommon standards are the key that will drive economies of scale and leverage the government\u2019s buying power.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A team comprised of Carahsoft Technology Corporation, Immix Technology and Deloitte Consulting LLP was awarded a blanket purchase agreement for its software-as-a-service solution \u201cKronos and SAP.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And a team made up of Grant Thornton, The Arcanum Group Inc. and CGI Federal was also awarded a BPA for its SaaS solution \u201cInfor.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cGSA is excited to deliver increased value to taxpayers and offer our partners in government a modern, efficient and effective approach to payroll through NewPay,\u201d said GSA Administrator Emily Murphy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201dNewPay strongly aligns with the Trump administration\u2019s efforts to be more efficient, make wise investments of taxpayer funds and shift the focus from low- to high-value work by modernizing government processes and systems. Additionally, by utilizing SaaS solutions, NewPay will continue to create ongoing value by empowering agencies to continue modernizing their systems.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the press release, the new BPAs align with the fifth cross agency priority goal established in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.federaltimes.com\/management\/2018\/03\/20\/trump-management-agenda-to-focus-on-multi-agency-goals\/\" target=_blank>President\u2019s Management Agenda<\/a>, which aims to streamline administrative services across the government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cToday\u2019s announcement of the NewPay awardees is an important step in our shared services journey as part of the President\u2019s Management Agenda,\u201d said Federal Chief Information Officer Suzette Kent. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI look forward to seeing
