The Federal Communications Commission\u00a0 granted the approval, giving the company a new customer and a second cloud service that complies with FedRAMP standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The authorization applies to only two IBM softlayer data centers which were designed with federal workloads in mind, in Ashburn, Virginia, and Richardson, Texas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">IBM is also trying to win Defense Department approval for another cloud service, Smart Cloud for
