A new app and website from the Defense Centers of Excellence for Psychological Health and Traumatic Brain Injury offers a one-tap path to connect service members to supportive peers, a crisis line for immediate response and to social network in which users may share stories and photos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;The <a href=\"https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/us\/app\/real-warriors\/id911378696\" marked=\"1\">Real Warriors app<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/realstrength.realwarriors.net\/\" marked=\"1\">complementary website<\/a> are designed to promote self-help and encourage warriors to support their peers by &#8216;saluting&#8217; and sharing positive photos and messages from important events like deployments and homecomings,&#8221; said MAJ Demietrice Pittman, clinical psychologist and Real Warriors Campaign contracting officer, quoted in a post at DoD&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/science.dodlive.mil\/2015\/05\/04\/technology-connects-service-members-to-psychological-health-help\/\" title=\"http:\/\/science.dodlive.mil\/2015\/05\/04\/technology-connects-service-members-to-psychological-health-help\/\">Armed With Science blog<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Salutes&#8221; are the Real Warriors analogue to Facebook &#8220;likes.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The app is available only for iOS devices for now, but the website itself is available on a mobile browser, with responsive design to ensure it displays well there.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The resources are
