It has truly been a cooperative effort between multiple groups &#8211; the PMO, JAB, A2LA, our vendors, agency partners, and independent assessors.<\/p>&mdash; John Hamilton (@HamiCloud) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/HamiCloud\/status\/988904771691130880?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 24, 2018<\/a><\/blockquote>\n<script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">FedRAMP was first unveiled in December 2011 as a means of promoting data security standards and a cloud first posture in federal agencies. The program issued its first authorization one year later. Since then, any commercial cloud storing federal data must first be vetted by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.federaltimes.com\/video\/2016\/03\/30\/program-view-what-agencies-are-saying-about-fedramp\/\" title=\"\" class=\"selected-link\" target=\"_blank\">FedRAMP process.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">FedRAMP has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.federaltimes.com\/2016\/05\/23\/survey-feds-see-frustration-in-fedramp-not-security\/\" title=\"\" class=\"\" target=\"_blank\">historically faced some frustration<\/a> from agencies, particularly when one agency\u2019s authorization isn\u2019t accepted by another agency. Recent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.federaltimes.com\/it-networks\/cloud\/2017\/06\/14\/fedramp-cuts-cloud-approval-to-4-months-but-are-agencies-buying-in\/\" title=\"\" class=\"\" target=\"_blank\">efforts to cut approval times through FedRAMP Accelerated<\/a>, however, have improved agency outlook on the process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The program currently has 100 authorized cloud services, 64 in process and 16 ready for evaluation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prior to the Connection Solutions authorization, the IBM Federal
