major award off GSA\u2019s new health IT SIN"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><span class=\"inbox-inbox-s1\">A $15.6 million task order by the Defense Health Agency to help effectively manage and track blood donor registration, screening, blood products and associated record keeping for military and civilian blood donors is the first major award using the new Health IT Services Special Item Number (SIN) on IT Schedule 70.<\/span><br\/><br\/> <span class=\"inbox-inbox-s1\">The award for an enterprise blood management system for the U.S. Army Solution Delivery Division is an example of how the Health IT Services SIN \u2014 which was launched July 8, 2016 \u2014 can support agency requirements and industry capabilities with its over 170 partners, according to a blog post by Mary Davie, assistant commissioner for the Office of Information Technology Category in GSA\u2019s Federal Acquisition Service.<\/span><br\/><br\/><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To help inform federal, state, local and tribal governments of the purpose, benefits and services covered under the SIN \u2014 including electronic health records, health analytics and many other health IT solutions \u2014 there will be a training webinar held June 13, 2017.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to Davie, the SIN&#8217;s centralized, direct access to health IT services has helped it address a market experiencing an annual growth rate of 7.4 percent, one of the faster-forcing technology sectors in both government and private sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Agencies are increasingly using the SIN for RFIs and RFQs to help clarify and refine requirements, gauge vendor interest and procure health services, reveals
