\"ID=24128379\"As the Office of Management and Budget looks to get more active in helping agencies with cybersecurity, the Office of E-Government and Information Technology has several IT jobs available to fill immediately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

OMB is standing up the E-Gov Cyber Unit and has “a critical hiring need” for IT specialists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The incumbent will develop policy recommendations and provide subject matter expertise on the development of cybersecurity policy, standards and methods for federal-wide implementation,” the posting on USAJobs.gov states. “Strong writing, speaking, analytic and executive briefing skills are a must.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Along with those skills, applicants should have specialized experience at the next lower grade on the general schedule or the private sector equivalent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Applicants should also have a graduate degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics or technology management or at least 24 semester hours in one of those fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Perspective employees will be ranked on six factors:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Demonstrated knowledge of cybersecurity management, policy and operational considerations. Demonstrated knowledge and application of analytical and evaluative methods and tools to manage complex, multi-organizational IT investment portfolios and IT programs.<\/li>
  2. Demonstrated ability to successfully manage information technology projects including planning, execution and risk management. Ability to assess, select and implement new technologies applicable to organizational missions and goals. Knowledge of current and emerging technologies and architectures and modern software development practices.<\/li>
  3. Demonstrated ability to analyze information technology policy issues including clear issue identification, critical analysis of options and impacts and development of defensible recommendations to senior leadership.<\/li>
  4. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, to senior management as well as large and diverse groups. Includes the ability to negotiate complex problems to successful results, present complex technical topics in readily understandable forms to non-technical audiences and lead small teams in successfully introducing innovative new technologies in large organizations.<\/li>
  5. Demonstrated understanding of how to maintain the confidentiality, integrity and availability of automated data processing operations through performance of IT security and information assurance activities implementing IT security policies and procedures in the development and operations of network and telecommunication systems, mainframe personal computing, video-conferencing, infrastructure software and server support.<\/li>
  6. Demonstrated ability to use desktop, laptop and mobile computers, tablets and cell phones to accomplish daily work assignments and collaborate with colleagues and customers. This includes familiarity with leading office automation software, email, collaboration suites, websites and specific data analysis and presentation briefing applications.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    The openings are for non-supervisory positions with a two-year term limit. The offers also include a potential two-year extension dependent on performance and funding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The positions offer salaries ranging from $63,000 to $139,000 a year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
