The cloud<\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"smg-interstitial-link__excerpt\">The Army is setting its sights on tactical cloud computing as it continues to modernize its network.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/a>\n\t<\/aside>\n\t\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Army officials described the industry day as market research, noting that contracts might not come out of it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThis is a technical exchange to help the Army solve complex problems,\u201d Maj. Gen. Peter Gallagher, director of the network cross functional team told the audience during the August event. \u201cThis will not work without dialogue.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Army received 78 white papers in response to the two day tactical cloud event, according to an Oct. 17 <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PEOC3T\/status\/1052572488440446976\" target=_blank>tweet <\/a>from Program Executive Office Command, Control, Communications \u2013 Tactical. Army leaders expect to finish reviewing the white papers by the end of October and plan to respond in late November.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Moreover, an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fbo.gov\/?s=opportunity&#038;mode=form&#038;tab=core&#038;id=737835452cbe1cf6ae6a62905cbb26aa&#038;_cview=0\" target=_blank>Oct. 17 posting on the Federal Business Opportunities website<\/a> noted that vendors with promising capability will receive an invitation for a no cost demo, around December and January. At these demonstrations, the posting said vendors will show their capability focused on three aspects;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8211; Technical maturity<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8211; Operational relevance<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8211; Technical ability to integrate into the Army\u2019s network design<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Vendors will be expected to answer technical questions from a panel of government technical, program and operational subject matter experts, the post said, with government assessment leads presenting the demonstrations to the CFT and C3T leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAs part of these outcomes, the Army will develop an experimentation\/assessment plan as well as identification of possible resourcing for promising capabilities.
