Hundreds of federal employees gathered outside the AFL-CIO headquarters in Washington, D.C., Jan. 10 to rally for an end to the partial government shutdown that has lasted for nearly three weeks<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Employee union leaders and members of Congress called on Senate leadership to bring forward and pass funding legislation that has already been approved by the House.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLadies and gentlemen, we\u2019re out in the cold … we\u2019re out in the cold voluntarily because we care about running government for the people. But the president is putting people out in the cold without asking \u2018by your leave,'” said House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Md.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
