Federal acquisition officials in the market for 5G to advance cyber modernization and security now have a \u201cshopper\u2019s guide\u201d to assist them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Thursday, the General Services Administration issued guidance for government IT managers and contracting officers looking to procure 5G technology that can handle classified information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c5G networks have the potential to be faster, more reliable, and serve many more devices \u2014 and could provide infrastructure to help with everything from smart buildings to telemedicine,\u201d said Federal Acquisition Service Commissioner Sonny Hashmi, in a statement. \u201cWe\u2019re pleased to be issuing this guidance to ensure that government can make the most of secure 5G in its efforts to deliver for the American people.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\t
