Uncle Sam is here for you with some public service announcements and <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.amtrak.com\/2020\/02\/amtrak-valentines-day-cards\/\" target=\"_blank\">puns<\/a> that err on the side of poetry. We\u2019ll let you be the judge if they\u2019re any good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The National Park Service<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once again the Department of the Interior\u2019s well-known land management bureau is taking the cake for one of the best social media campaigns. Perhaps this is the year you switch to battery-operated flames? That\u2019s why the the Agricultural Research Service announced on Wednesday its strawberry \u201cbreeding\u201d program in Beltsville, Maryland, has cultivated a new berry called Lumina that grows large and sweet with a bright color.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The agency said the variety is also resistant to certain diseases in the field that can lead to rotting at harvest time and in storage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cNo fumigation or fungicides were used on \u2018Lumina\u2019 in the field,\u201d said USDA-ARS research plant geneticist <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ars.usda.gov\/people-locations\/person?person-id=10094\">Kim Lewers<\/a>, in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ars.usda.gov\/news-events\/news\/research-news\/2024\/a-sweet-springtime-reveal-for-valentine-s-day\/\" target=\"_blank\">statement<\/a>. \u201cThis is remarkable.
