{"id":28299,"date":"2024-06-04T20:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-06-04T20:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/one.sightlinemg.com\/federaltimes\/uncategorized\/2024\/06\/04\/ask-reg-how-is-disability-annuity-calculated-in-my-retirement-check\/"},"modified":"2026-08-08T04:58:13","modified_gmt":"2026-08-08T04:58:13","slug":"ask-reg-how-is-disability-annuity-calculated-in-my-retirement-check","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/one.sightlinemg.com\/federaltimes\/fedlife\/retirement\/2024\/06\/04\/ask-reg-how-is-disability-annuity-calculated-in-my-retirement-check\/","title":{"rendered":"Ask Reg: How is disability annuity calculated in my retirement check?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The following is a question submitted by a reader to Federal Times columnist Reg Jones, a charter member of the senior executive service and the resident expert on federal employee retirement issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A Fed Times reader asks:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI turned 62 in September 2023, so the Office of Personnel Management recalculated my retirement but only gave me credit for a few years. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I was on disability from 1999 to 2023, also I was under the 6C LEO retirement plan, but they now admitted to having the wrong CSA number, and it has been four months. They still can\u2019t figure out how to recalculate my retirement. I think it\u2019s easy, since they have my original SF-50 from 1999. They said they won\u2019t give me the 1.7% for LEO. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Is this correct?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Reg\u2019s response: <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At age 62 your disability annuity will be converted to a regular annuity.
