Several conservative lawmakers have voiced concerns about the plan, but without its adoption a partial government shutdown would start next week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Senate Veterans\u2019 Affairs Committee will hold a hearing on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.militarytimes.com\/news\/pentagon-congress\/2019\/08\/16\/wait-continues-on-additions-to-vas-agent-orange-connected-illnesses\/\" target=_blank>toxic exposure issues<\/a> on Wednesday, while the House Veterans\u2019 Affairs Committee has several oversight hearings on VA medical issues scheduled throughout the week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Staff from both committees are eyeing a possible legislative package for later this year, to possibly include changes on VA medical and benefits policies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<strong>Tuesday, Sept. Dirksen <br>\r\n<i>Central America <\/i><br>\r\nState Department officials will testify on U.S. policy towards Mexico and South America. <br>\r\n<br>\r\nHouse Transportation \u2014 2 p.m. \u2014 2253 Rayburn <br>\r\n<i>Coast Guard and Port Infrastructure<\/i><br>\r\nCoast Guard and other federal officials will testify on U.S. port infrastructure and maritime strategy. <br>\r\n<br>\r\nHouse Armed Services \u2014 2 p.m. \u2014 2118 Rayburn <br>\r\n<i>Nuclear Strategy <\/i><br>\r\nNavy and Air Force officials will testify on the status of the B61-12 life extension program and the W88
