{"id":7764,"date":"2014-12-09T02:53:00","date_gmt":"2014-12-09T02:53:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/one.sightlinemg.com\/federaltimes\/uncategorized\/2017\/07\/20\/15-things-to-know-about-the-ndaa\/"},"modified":"2026-08-08T04:48:10","modified_gmt":"2026-08-08T04:48:10","slug":"15-things-to-know-about-the-ndaa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/one.sightlinemg.com\/federaltimes\/federal-oversight\/2014\/12\/09\/15-things-to-know-about-the-ndaa\/","title":{"rendered":"15 things to know about the NDAA"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Congress is spending some of its remaining time before the end of the year working to pass the National Defense Authorization Act of 2015 and send the legislation to President Obama for his signature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The $584.2 billion bill is $48 billion less than the fiscal 2014 legislation, and includes a 1 percent boost in military pay to funding to fight the Islamic State group and other terrorist organizations. The bill is sweeping in scope and contains hundreds of pages of new regulations, policies and programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rather than read all 727 pages of the bill, the Federal Times has put together a list of NDAA items that would affect federal employees. In some instances we have included items that were proposed but not included in the compromise legislation Congress rolled out earlier this month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The items
