The federal government is at a critical moment for tackling the technical demands of today, as well as preparing for the needs of the future, according to federal Chief Information Officer Suzette Kent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kent, who spoke Sept. 11 at a Professional Services Council Conference, stressed the importance of introducing innovation into the way that the federal government tackles technology, so that the government can remain the top innovator it has proven to be historically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThere is often a fear of what\u2019s going to happen if we get things wrong,\u201d said Kent, explaining that there is often resistance to programs that seek to change the processes of government. \u201cIt\u2019s about that vision, it\u2019s about that boldness to change the status quo.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\t
