{"id":9631,"date":"2015-10-14T16:02:37","date_gmt":"2015-10-14T16:02:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/one.sightlinemg.com\/federaltimes\/uncategorized\/2015\/10\/14\/fdic-gets-new-cio\/"},"modified":"2026-08-08T04:30:01","modified_gmt":"2026-08-08T04:30:01","slug":"fdic-gets-new-cio","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/one.sightlinemg.com\/federaltimes\/it-networks\/2015\/10\/14\/fdic-gets-new-cio\/","title":{"rendered":"FDIC gets new CIO"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With the former IT lead on administrative leave for most of the summer, the FDIC appointed a new CIO last week, longtime public servant Lawrence Gross.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His official start date is Nov. 2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gross&#8217; move to the FDIC continues more than 25 years of public service, including positions with the federal government and active military duty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He holds a bachelor&#8217;s degree in information systems management from the University of Maryland University College and a CIO certification from the National Defense University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gross takes over for acting CIO Martin Henning, who took the lead in the absence of former FDIC CIO Barry West.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/federalnewsradio.com\/management\/2015\/06\/fdic-places-cio-barry-west-on-administrative-leave\/\" title=\"http:\/\/federalnewsradio.com\/management\/2015\/06\/fdic-places-cio-barry-west-on-administrative-leave\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"left\" alternate=\"\" assetid=\"73924756\" assettype=\"oEmbed\" class=\"imgAsset middle\" credit=\"\" cutline=\"\" providername=\"{providername}\" src=\"\/Portals\/_default\/Skins\/PrestoLegacy\/CommonCss\/images\/smartembed.png\" style=\"float: left;\" title=\"21 agencies make Online Trust Alliance honor roll [ID=73924756] [oEmbed : 73924756]\" width=\"50px\"\/>Federal News Radio first reported<\/a> that West went on administrative leave as early as June of this year, though the reason for his absence was unknown.
