Officials are searching for a Marine who went missing Sunday while swimming near Tumon Bay, Guam.
The Marine Corps, Navy and Coast Guard are working with local officials to search the area where the Marine was swept out to sea around 5 p.m. Guam Standard Time, according to a Marine Corps statement.
The Marine, part of Combat Logistics Battalion 31, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, is attached to the USS Green Bay and was on leave in Guam when the incident occurred, the release said.
The Marine’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
