SNEADS FERRY, N.C. — A Marine stationed at Camp Lejeune has been charged in a wreck that killed a motorcycle driver.
The North Carolina Highway Patrol told local media that 68-year-old Thomas Eugene Martin of Sneads Ferry died in the crash Monday afternoon.
Troopers say a military truck crossed the center line of a road while trying to avoid traffic that had stopped suddenly. Twenty-one-year-old Steven Crane is charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle and driving left of the center line.
He was released to his military unit.
No one else was hurt.
