Proof of identity and residence \u2013 Make sure to have a photo ID handy, such as your driver\u2019s license or passport. Some lenders may also require your Social Security number, and additional proof of residence such as a lease agreement or mortgage statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Credit report \u2013 Generally, the better your credit score, the better rate you\u2019ll get on an auto loan. While the lender will pull your credit report when you apply, it is good to check your own credit report to get a sense of where you stand and whether there are any errors you can fix on your report.
