Gen. Rick Uribe following a Defense Department inspector general report that found that the former deputy commanding general and director of the Combined Joint Operations Center in Baghdad had misused his aide, spokesman for Marine Corps Forces Pacific Chuck Little told Marine Corps Times in an email.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe take all allegations of misconduct seriously,\u201d Little said.<\/p>\n\n\n\t<aside class=\"smg-interstitial-link wp-block-smg-interstitial-link\">\n\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/one.sightlinemg.com\/marinecorpstimes\/news\/your-marine-corps\/2018\/07\/05\/marine-one-star-cited-for-misusing-aide-taking-gifts-from-subordinates\/\" class=\"smg-interstitial-link__inner\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"smg-interstitial-link__media\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"177\" src=\"https:\/\/one.sightlinemg.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/MAR-uribe-3-web.png.png?w=300\" class=\"smg-interstitial-link__image wp-post-image\" alt=\"\" \/>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"smg-interstitial-link__content\">\n\t\t\t\t<span class=\"smg-interstitial-link__kicker\">Related<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"smg-interstitial-link__title\">Marine one-star cited for misusing aide, taking gifts from subordinates<\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"smg-interstitial-link__excerpt\">Brig. Gen. Rick Uribe had his aide picking up his laundry and meals, carrying a backpack with his cold weather gear and snacks, paying for haircuts and reserving gym equipment for him.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/a>\n\t<\/aside>\n\t\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.military.com\/daily-news\/2018\/07\/17\/admin-punishment-marine-1-star-who-treated-aide-servant.html\" target=_blank>Military.com<\/a> first reported the punishment against the one-star general and former inspector general of the Marine Corps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Following Uribe\u2019s deployment to Iraq that spanned May 2016 to June 2017, the DoD received a tip that the general had an officer aide-de-camp carrying out personal chores for the commander.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Uribe was also found to have accepted gifts, chocolates and loans from subordinates amounting to nearly $782.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cBrig. Gen. Uribe made a personal choice to voluntarily provide repayment in order to address concerns of any perception of impropriety raised by the report,\u201d 1st Lt. David Morris, a spokesman for I MEF, told Military.com.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Uribe is currently the deputy commanding general of I Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Pendleton,
