As the Marine Corps hones its warfighting skills<\/a>, planners are looking for new ways to go off-script and get adversaries who punch back as hard as they\u2019re hit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That\u2019ll be necessary for any future near-peer fight, in which air dominance and control<\/a> of the battlefield will be under constant attack from adversaries ranging as big as Russia and China, or nonstate actors probe Marine resolve in the \u201cgray zone\u201d below the threshold of combat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To that end, some big changes are coming to how Marine leaders will see if their units are up to the test, from the small unit<\/a> to the large-scale Marine Air Ground Task Force level.<\/p>\n\n\n\t
