Bill Urban.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThese actions are a clear demonstration of U.S. resolve to defend Coalition forces in the [Eastern Syria Security Area], and to ensure that they are able to continue their Defeat-ISIS mission without interference,\u201d Urban said in an emailed statement. \u201cThe Defense Department has previously deployed Bradleys to northeast Syria pursuant to these goals.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bradleys from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.armytimes.com\/news\/your-army\/2019\/06\/12\/brigade-combat-teams-at-the-highest-level-of-readiness-have-doubled-under-deploy-or-get-out\/\">30th Armored Brigade Combat Team<\/a> were last sent to Syria in late October 2019 to guard oil infrastructure from Islamic State militants, officials said at the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They were quietly pulled out after roughly a month when combined patrols with Turkish forces \u201cnever materialized\u201d and the \u201cmission requirements changed,\u201d a military official in the region previously told Army Times.<\/p>\n\n\n\t<aside class=\"smg-interstitial-link wp-block-smg-interstitial-link\">\n\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/one.sightlinemg.com\/armytimes\/news\/your-army\/2020\/01\/30\/why-the-army-pulled-bradleys-out-of-syrian-oil-fields-after-one-month\/\" class=\"smg-interstitial-link__inner\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"smg-interstitial-link__media\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" src=\"https:\/\/one.sightlinemg.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/5906902.jpg.jpg?w=300\" class=\"smg-interstitial-link__image wp-post-image\" alt=\"\" \/>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"smg-interstitial-link__content\">\n\t\t\t\t<span class=\"smg-interstitial-link__kicker\">Related<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"smg-interstitial-link__title\">Why the Army pulled Bradleys out of Syrian oil fields after one month<\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"smg-interstitial-link__excerpt\">There were no combat badges dished out to the mechanized soldiers during their month-long stint.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/a>\n\t<\/aside>\n\t\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The armored vehicles sent back this month belong to 2nd Brigade, 1st Armored Division, out of Fort Bliss, Texas.
