We\u2019ve never been given advanced notice when that will happen\u201d so Marines \u201cneed to conduct training that is necessary\u201d to be ready when the nation needs it to act. Gen. David Berger said.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/a>\n\t<\/aside>\n\t\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThese changes are motivated by the continued spread of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marinecorpstimes.com\/news\/coronavirus\/2020\/03\/25\/a-marine-crisis-response-task-force-covering-africa-is-stuck-in-italy-and-spain-over-covid-19-concerns\/\" target=\"_blank\">COVID-19 <\/a>cases throughout the region and the region-wide increase to HPCON C [Health Protection Condition Charlie]. These measures are preventive to ensure the protection of the force, our families, and our community,&#8221; the release reads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/experience.arcgis.com\/experience\/685d0ace521648f8a5beeeee1b9125cd\" target=_blank>World Health Organization<\/a>, Japan has 1291 COVID-19 cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">HPCON-Charlie means there is substantial and sustained community transmission of a virus or disease. Under those conditions personnel can expect cancellations of in-person gatherings, restricted travel, among others, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/phc.amedd.army.mil\/topics\/campaigns\/covid19\/Pages\/HPCON.aspx\" target=_blank>Army Public Health Center<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe intent of these additional measures is to reduce the potential for the spread of COVID-19 among our personnel and our Japanese neighbors by further limiting movements and minimizing personal interactions,\u201d the news release reads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cMARFOR-J will continue mission essential training and activities, while implementing social distancing practices and leveraging
