Manpower officials at Quantico are looking for hu<\/span>Hundreds of junior enlisted Marines who are nearing the end of their enlistment term\u00a0are needed now\u00a0in fiscal 2016 <\/span>to fill active-reserve billets in the Active Reserve<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During this fiscal yearThis year<\/span>, the Corps is seeking\u00a0the AR will seek <\/span>237 Marines in 31 specialties \u2014\u00a0, in the ranks of <\/span>corporals through sergeants \u2014\u00a0in 31 specialties <\/span>to go Reserve while still working as a <\/span>full-time Marines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Opportunities exist in fields that include administration, infantry and aviation maintenance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Career benefits include active-duty pay and entitlements, including potential to attain active-duty retirement benefits,” according to Marine administrative message 489\/15. If they are in a competitive MOS for re-enlistment, the Active Reserve Program offers one more way to remain in uniform full time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For individuals, t<\/span>The Active Reserve Program also\u00a0that AR <\/span>can offer individual Marines much more\u00a0flexibility on where they are stationed; with\u00a0<\/span>many Reserve units are located far away <\/span>from the major Marine <\/span>installations where most stateside Marines are assigned. So a Marine may be able to continue to serve full-time while living near family or friends, for example.That means a Marine may be able to stay in uniform full-time while living near friends and family, for example.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Marine Corps Forces Reserve units, For Reserve units, it\u00a0<\/span>the Active Reserve Program provides a permanent staff of “experienced, well-trained, full-time Reserve Component Marines,” according to the MARADMIN. They keep ose Marines\u00a0keep <\/span>the unit running when the rest of its personnel return to their civilian s <\/span>lives for most of each month.\u00a0That is useful to any unit, but especially those in the aviation community, for example, where aircraft need\u00a0to be maintained,\u00a0and <\/span>ready to roll when pilots report for drilling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marines joining the Active Reserve may be eligible for affiliation bonuses under the fiscal 2016 Selective Re-enlistment Bonus program if they match rank and specialty requirements. For example, an sergeant <\/span>intelligence specialist at the rank of sergeant can earn $10,250 for re-enlisting for four years. Others like a sergeant c<\/span>Cyber network operators at the same rank can take home nearly $31,000. To be eligible for the AR Program, active-component Marines must be within six months of their end of active service date, be eligible for re-enlistment and serve in one of the specified MOSs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marines can apply for a lateral move to clinch an AR billet or a bonus, but those moves are subject to approval on a case-by-case basis, depending\u00a0based <\/span>on service needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interested aA<\/span>ctive-duty Marines should\u00a0who are interested are encourages to <\/span>contact a prior-service recruiter up to nine months before their\u00a0prior to their <\/span>end of active service date. They can \u00a0and can formally <\/span>submit their application beginning 180 days before prior to <\/span>leaving active duty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
