Roberto Martins, a 1st Marine Aircraft Wing spokesperson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe pilot performed as trained and chose the safest option, landing the aircraft safely in accordance with standard procedures,\u201d Martins said in the statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">NHK has uploaded footage of what appears to be a minor accident involving a US Air Force F-35 jet at Kadena Air Base in Okinawa. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/f4QyPSurpj\">https:\/\/t.co\/f4QyPSurpj<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Jeffrey J. malfunctioned so that the nose of the aircraft tipped toward the ground, according to Martins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There were no injuries as a result of the malfunction,
