Better mail those order forms now"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For those of you closely tracking the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.armytimes.com\/off-duty\/gearscout\/2018\/05\/14\/want-a-genuine-us-military-surplus-1911-heres-finally-how-you-can-get-one\/\" target=\"_blank\">government sale of 8,000 surplus<\/a> 1911 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.armytimes.com\/news\/your-army\/2018\/01\/23\/not-just-a-sidearm-armys-new-handgun-marks-first-step-to-changing-how-soldiers-fight\/\" target=\"_blank\">pistols, <\/a>you likely already mailed off your forms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But in case you forgot or have been trekking remote mountain passes for the past year, find a yak, because those forms must be postmarked between Sept. 4 and Oct. 4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meaning: Get those forms in the mail!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <a href=\"http:\/\/thecmp.org\/cmp_sales\/1911-information\/\" target=_blank>Civilian Marksmanship Program<\/a> announced the batches of the venerable .45 caliber<a href=\"https:\/\/www.armytimes.com\/news\/your-army\/2017\/05\/03\/these-are-the-soldiers-who-will-get-the-army-s-new-handgun-first\/\" target=_blank> pistols<\/a> for sale to the public last year. Some details shifted since the original posting, though.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The CMP initially said there would be 10,000 pistols for sale.
