Rates are set using area cost-of-living metrics, so just because there\u2019s a nationwide uptick doesn\u2019t mean you\u2019ll see higher rates where you\u2019re stationed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, you won\u2019t see lower rates: Troops receiving the old BAH rate for their location will continue to do so if the new one is lower, unless there is a change in their dependent status or their paygrade.
