The Marine Corps\u2019 newest combat vehicle is back to amphibious operations \u2015 but only in protected waters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After one Marine amphibious combat vehicle rolled over in high California surf and one became disabled on July 19, \u201cout of an abundance of caution, the Corps \u201dpaused all amphibious combat vehicle operations.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Wednesday it announced that ban lifted on July 22, but that the ACV still is staying off the ocean and surf, for now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAfter initial review of the factors involved\u201d in the incident, Headquarters Marine Corps in Washington determined the vehicle was safe to use in protected waters to sustain \u201ccrew proficiency and meet entry-level training requirements,\u201d Headquarters Marine Corps Spokesman Capt. Ryan Bruce told Marine Corps Times in a Wednesday statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\t
