A Marine corporal stationed at Camp Foster<\/a> in Okinawa, Japan, was recently honored<\/a> for saving a Japanese restaurant worker\u2019s life this past spring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marine Cpl. Dominick Bonner of Parkville, Maryland, received the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal<\/a> on June 8, Stars and Stripes<\/a> first reported. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In April, Bonner had been out to breakfast at an off-base eatery, celebrating his wife\u2019s birthday,<\/a> when the Marine was told an employee needed medical attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The restaurant employee was on the ground in the kitchen area, motionless and without a pulse, a Marine Corps statement said. Bonner quickly began chest compressions after relieving the employee\u2019s fatigued co-workers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAfter 10 minutes of performing the lifesaving aid, paramedics were able to take the man to a nearby hospital,\u201d the Marine Corps said. <\/p>\n\n\n\t
