Cover letters allow you to demonstrate your enthusiasm and passion, which a resume often cannot convey. Cover letters, approach letters and thank-you letters can be used to show an employer, in more detail, what you can do for them and why they should hire you. You want to tailor this specifically to the job you are applying including the job title or number. Mention the name of who referred you, as this will show you have a connection to the company.
