The tech involved here is probably bigger news than the light itself. Surefire managed to put two different emitters on one die. This is cutting-edge flashlight geekery. Prior to the V-Series, multi-colored lights used multiple L.E.D.s in an array around the bezel. The 2-die emitter allows both spectrums to share the same reflector and lens, allowing engineers to provide the same optimized beam shape for either white or I.R. light.
