Drag your hungover self out of bed on New Years Day and sign up for the Air Force Marathon. You don’t have to get up at the crack of dawn, but if you sign up for the Sept. 15 race before Jan. 2 you’ll be rewarded with discounted registration. The price for the full marathon beginning Jan. 2 is $85. The half-marathon is $60, and the 10K and 5K are $40 and $25, respectively.
The marathon is scheduled for Sept. 15 at the National Museum of the Air Force at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. The 2011 marathon set a record with about 13,000 runners lining up, so officials added 1,500 spots to bring the total to 15,000 open slots for the 2012 race.
Registration costs will rise again April 2 and June 2, if spots are still available. Registration is available here.
