Magpul Dynamics had some footage from the newly released second volume of their Art of the Tactical Carbine training DVDs looping in their booth at the NDIA Small Arms Symposium. I didn’t pull up a chair and watch the whole thing, but I watched enough notice the tips and tactics in V2 are more advanced than those found in V1; which makes sense since the new video is based on their 2nd level course.
In a nutshell, there’s more carbine employment and less carbine operation. The production quality looked great, the instruction is engaging, there’s an hour segment on gear alone, an outtakes reel and Chris Costa upped the CDI factor by growing his volume 1 goatee into a full beard for the new production.
The 4 DVD set should be available in a couple of weeks for $50. Perhaps Magpul had to up the price $10 to pay Costa’s facial hair stylist. It’s good stuff and a great way to spend a rainy day with the Mrs.
