GI Film Festival Trailer Wars: ‘The Colonel’ vs. ‘Devil Dogs’

Before the movie, we see the trailers. And before the GI Film Festival, we fight the Trailer Wars.

Fans of military cinema will have to wait until late May for the festival to select this year’s “Best of Fest” honorees, but voting is underway to choose the best trailer among 16 selected by GIFF officials. Head-to-head votes will run throughout April and into May, with the winner announced shortly before the festival kicks off.

First-round winners so far include “Operation Route 66” and “A War Within”. Today’s battle: “The Colonel” versus “Devil Dogs.”

“The Colonel” begins in 1969 when a heralded Marine, Hap Tasker, on the brink of promotion to Brigadier, is told he has a deficient heart that prevents him from future military service.
