Parliamentary fights stalled most amendment work on the measure last week, but chamber leaders are hopeful they can advance the bill and start conference committee work in coming days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Votes on the bill are scheduled after 7 p.m. Monday, making for a late night for lawmakers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Later in the week, both the House and Senate are expected to take up their respective defense appropriations bills, with an eye toward\u00a0finalizing the military budget sometime later this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, lawmakers in both chambers are looking at how to advance a series of veterans measures, including Sen.
