They\u2019re also a key ingredient in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.militarytimes.com\/news\/your-military\/2018\/04\/26\/dod-126-bases-report-water-contaminants-harmful-to-infant-development-tied-to-cancers\/\" target=_blank>firefighting foams used for training exercises<\/a> on military bases. Debbie Stabenow and Gary Peters and Rep. Dan Kildee <a href=\"https:\/\/www.airforcetimes.com\/news\/your-air-force\/2018\/07\/25\/tests-show-contamination-from-selfridge-flowing-from-air-base-into-river-lake\/\" target=\"_blank\">of Michigan<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They say many veterans have been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.militarytimes.com\/news\/your-military\/2018\/05\/20\/more-reasons-to-be-worried-about-cancer-causing-chemicals-on-military-bases\/\" target=\"_blank\">exposed to the chemicals<\/a>, along with people living near bases who may have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.militarytimes.com\/news\/your-military\/2018\/06\/20\/why-women-were-told-dont-get-pregnant-at-george-air-force-base\/\" target=\"_blank\">drunk contaminated
