Or, if you have more of a foreign bent, a sleek Glock 19.<\/p>\n\n\n\t<aside class=\"smg-interstitial-link wp-block-smg-interstitial-link\">\n\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/one.sightlinemg.com\/militarytimes\/off-duty\/military-culture\/2021\/06\/01\/crayon-eating-devil-dog-is-destined-to-be-a-marine\/\" class=\"smg-interstitial-link__inner\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"smg-interstitial-link__media\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"214\" src=\"https:\/\/one.sightlinemg.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/Chalk-Christmas-Lights-Illustration-Christmas-Thank-You-Card.jpg.jpg?w=300\" class=\"smg-interstitial-link__image wp-post-image\" alt=\"\" \/>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"smg-interstitial-link__content\">\n\t\t\t\t<span class=\"smg-interstitial-link__kicker\">Related<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"smg-interstitial-link__title\">Crayon-eating devil dog is destined to be a Marine<\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"smg-interstitial-link__excerpt\">This crayon-eating dog should study for the ASVAB ASAP.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/a>\n\t<\/aside>\n\t\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The staff at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.militarytimes.com\/off-duty\/military-culture\/2021\/05\/28\/how-a-meme-about-the-marine-corps-commandant-took-on-a-life-of-its-own\/\" target=\"_blank\">Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Carolina<\/a>, however, is beseeching family members of newly graduated Marines \u2014 be the one, too \u2014 to not bring guns on base.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a May 17 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/ParrisIsland\/posts\/10158204556257444\" target=\"_blank\">Facebook post<\/a>, MRCD Parris Island indicated that, since the May 7 reopening of boot camp graduations to the public, there has been an uptick in families attempting to bring guns onto the premises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAs a federal installation, no personal firearms are authorized aboard the base and those families must take measures to store their firearms prior to entering the base or they will be turned away,\u201d Capt. Bryan McDonnell told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.navytimes.com\/off-duty\/military-culture\/2021\/06\/07\/why-sailors-love-a-filthy-unwashed-coffee-mug\/\" target=\"_blank\">Marine Corps Times <\/a>in a written statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A spokesperson for California\u2019s Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego told Marine Corps Times the left coast installation, predictably, has not experienced a gun problem over the same period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to firearms, the Corps also bans toy guns, knives with a blade longer than three inches, prescription medication not properly labeled, explosive materials or fireworks, alcohol and any illegal drugs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Basically, if it\u2019s material your \u201cI woulda enlisted in the military but can\u2019t no drill instructors tell me what to do\u201d cousin employees to spend a fun weekend, it\u2019s likely banned from Parris Island. Although, with the full reopening of the base after extensive closures due to COVID-19, even those would-haves are welcome to come see the real thing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\"
