The Driftwood is not going out of business.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/a>\n\t<\/aside>\n\t\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Reactions to the announcement in the Facebook post\u2019s comments mostly conveyed a mixture of humor and disappointment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cFuture Marines will never know the glory of the Rib House [shaking my head],\u201d read one comment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cHow [are] you going to ban the only good BBQ place in Iwakuni??\u201d read another.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Azevedo, a Marine Corps veteran,<a href=\"https:\/\/www.stripes.com\/lifestyle\/rib-house-brings-california-style-mexican-bbq-dishes-to-iwakuni-1.542821\" target=_blank> told Stars and Stripes in 2018<\/a> that he \u201calways wanted to open a barbecue shack, because food makes people happy.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The restaurant serves classic barbecue staples like pulled pork, smoked chicken and corn on the cob, as well as Mexican cuisine like enchiladas and tacos, according to its Instagram <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/ribhouse_iwakuni\/\" target=_blank>account<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cOff-limits areas may be established by the MCAS Iwakuni Commanding Officer when there is substantive information that an establishment presents conditions that adversely affect the health, safety, welfare, morale, or morals of SOFA status personnel,\u201d base spokesman Maj. Joshua Diddams said in an email to Stars and Stripes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All applicable personnel under the status of forces agreement between the United States and Japan \u2015 to include service members and civilian Defense Department personnel \u2015 \u201cwill be dealt with under the [Uniform Code of Military Justice] or applicable civilian regulations,\u201d the Facebook post said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The establishment, usually only open Fridays and Saturdays, appears to have been closed since the owner\u2019s arrest, Stars and
