case aboard the guided-missile destroyer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.navytimes.com\/news\/your-navy\/2022\/12\/23\/fire-breaks-out-aboard-uss-carney\/\" target=\"_blank\">Carney<\/a> that took place just before Christmas at the warship\u2019s home in Mayport, Florida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">NCIS is offering a $2,000 reward to anyone with information on the Dec. 23 blaze, which sent six sailors to the hospital for smoke inhalation, officials said at the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anyone with information can reach the agency at <a href=\"http:\/\/ncis.navy.mil\/\" target=\"_blank\">NCIS.navy.mil<\/a>, and can report a tip anonymously.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A fire scene examination by NCIS, other federal authorities and Florida investigators \u201cdetermined that the fire was a non-accidental fire caused by human means,\u201d NCIS spokesman Jeff Houston said in an email.<\/p>\n\n\n\t<aside class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The fire was called away at about 3:43 a.m., and the ship\u2019s crew was able to extinguish the fire and de-smoke the affected spaces, Naval Surface Force Atlantic
